Peru

Peru is a country in South America that is home to over thirty-three million people. The first missionaries from our churches went to "Darkest Peru" in 1927 to take the gospel to unreached people. Today we partner with the Association of Evangelical Baptist Churches in South Peru (AIEBSP) supporting around 15 Peruvian individuals and couples involved in evangelism, church planting and pastoral ministry.  We also support a radio ministry, camp centre and Seminary. All of this work is in the very south of Peru in cities like Ilo, Moquegua and Tacna and in the Carumas Valley (10,000 feet about sea level). In 2027 we plan, Lord willing, to mark the 100th anniversary since the first missionaries left these shores. Peru100 will be an opportunity to give thanks to God for His faithfulness and encourage future generations to obey the Great Commission. In the intervening years our Peruvian brothers and sisters are increasingly leading and taking ownership of the work in their beautiful, but still spiritually needy country.
